OVERVIEW:- This course enables beginners to work comfortably within the Windows environment and to understand the basics of word-processing with Microsoft Word for Windows, with special reference to legal work.
Exercises and examples used during the course are based on typical legal documents and procedures.

OBJECTIVES:- The delegates will, at the end of the course, be able to:

Windows:
Start and finish a Windows session
Use the on-line help and find system information
Use the mouse
Work with toolbars, icons, menus, dialog boxes
Manipulate windows
Start programs and switch between them
Empty the Recycle Bin

Word:
Start and finish a word processing session
Create a simple document
Name, save and print a document
Locate, open and revise a document
Find and replace text and attributes
Delete, move and copy text
Proof-read a document and use the spelling tools
Use Auto-Correct and Auto-Text to enter frequently used words and phrases
Apply different fonts and attributes to characters
Understand and use styles and templates
Design page layout
Set tabs and indents
Apply headers, footers and page numbers
Create address labels
Apply automatic legal numbering and cross-referencing
Use existing templates for production and printing of letters, bills, attendance notes and other documents specifically required by the delegate's firm
