We are constantly being reminded by the media these days that a "web presence" is becoming more and more important to our survival as a business. There is a lot of talk about "dot com" business and how much money can be made by selling a product directly on the Web. For many businesses, however, that may sound daunting, especially if the business does not have a product as such, but provides a service. It doesn't have to be difficult or expensive, however, to set up a Web page, and it will make all the difference to your business.

A web presence is a must

It really is important to have a Web presence even if you do not intend to sell directly on the Web. It shows that you are at the cutting edge, and once you have paid the initial costs to set up a Web page, it is free advertising to potentially millions. Your company may already be listed on the Web in a directory or as part of another Web site, but if you don't have that "clickable" link, you have lost the business to your competitors. Starting to think about a web site can be very scary, and there are too many people around willing to give advice, and a lot of very ineffective web sites. I must say here that I am by no means satisfied with this web site, but it is an ongoing development project, as I believe all good web sites should be.

Creative Connections does not design web sites for others - there are plenty of web design companies out there waiting for your business. But what we can do for you is give you an understanding of how a web site is put together so that you can either build one yourself, or at least know what you are looking for when shopping around for a web design company.
